The incident happened this Thursday morning at a gated residence in Canning. 💢🇦🇷

A battery caught fire, but a rapid response from firefighters prevented the flames from spreading. 🧑‍🚒

✧ Freddie filling that enormous screen, with Brian and Roger sitting just below him. Oh, my heart!

Tonight, Brian May and Roger Taylor attended the UK premiere of Queen Budapest at London’s BFI IMAX for a screening and Q&A. And how lovely to see Kashmira and Samuel there with them, celebrating this part of Freddie’s life and Queen’s history.

✧ The newly restored concert film marks 40 years since Queen performed at Budapest’s Népstadion on 27 July 1986, during the Magic Tour. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John played before 80,000 people, with fans travelling from across Eastern Europe to see them.

Directed by János Zsombolyai and captured on 35mm film, the concert has been restored in 4K by Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Production team, with newly remixed sound from the original multitrack recordings.

And what a night to revisit: the sea of hands during “Radio Ga Ga,” Freddie commanding the stadium, and that beautiful moment when he sings “Tavaszi Szél Vizet Áraszt” and the Hungarian audience joins him. So many reasons to wish we could have been there.

✧ I keep coming back to Freddie above them on the screen. Seeing Brian and Roger together again is such a joy. Seeing them gathered to celebrate the music they made with Freddie and John makes these pictures especially precious.

A huge thank you to Leroy Rodgers, @levelupleroy, for generously allowing me to share his photograph from the premiere. I’m so glad he shared a little of his evening with us!

Queen Budapest arrives in cinemas and IMAX worldwide beginning 7 October, for a limited run. Find your nearest screening at queenbudapest.com. ✨
