A 20-year-old US marine has been arrested for the robbery and murder of a woman in Okinawa, Japan.

Police say Devin Jacob Ballard allegedly killed 39-year-old Anna Yagi in a hotel room. Security footage allegedly shows a man believed to be the suspect entering the hotel with the Yagi and leaving alone with her belongings.

Ballard denied the allegations, telling police: “I don’t know anything.”

For many Okinawa locals, the arrest has reignited decades of frustration over crimes involving US military personnel.

The next chapter.

After months of keeping this secret, we can finally share what this special old chapel is going to become…

A Reformer Pilates and wellness studio.

From the moment we bought this beautiful 1893 chapel, we knew we wanted to do more than simply restore the building. We wanted to give it a purpose again.

A reason for its doors to remain open.

A place for people to come together.

And, most importantly, something that could become a positive part of our local community for many years to come.

For us, movement, health and wellbeing felt like an incredibly fitting next chapter.

We’ve poured so much into creating a space that feels warm, welcoming and completely unlike a conventional fitness studio, somewhere that celebrates everything we love about this historic building while introducing an entirely new reason to step through its doors.

And we aren’t doing it alone.

We’re so excited to be embarking on this next chapter with our wonderful friends and business partners, Emma and Tom.

Emma will be leading our Pilates offering and helping us create an incredible programme of classes, while Tom brings a wealth of experience from the Reformer world as one of the founders of FÔLD, whose beautiful Reformers will now have a rather special new home here in the chapel.

And while Reformer Pilates will sit at the heart of what we do, we hope the chapel can become more than simply a place to exercise.

We’d love to use this beautiful building for carefully considered community-led events too, bringing people together for talks, gatherings and other special moments throughout the year.

After all, this has always been about giving an old community building a new purpose while respecting everything that came before.

Today we can finally show you what we’ve been working towards all this time.

The chapel is finished. But its story is only just beginning.
