If there’s one thing running has taught me, it’s that the finish line isn’t always the destination. I didn’t reach the finish line at Desert Rats.
Am I sad? A little bit. Did I cry? Maybe.. All the training, early mornings, long runs, tired days didn’t go to waste though. The things I’ve learned about myself through this journey have been amazing.
I had the best running buddies and support system out there. My amazing coach, mentor, and friend
@brockpainterofficial pushing me everyday to become a better version of myself. And to Alex, Denver, and Chaz for pushing me on a day to day basis and keeping me accountable. And to everyone cheering me on. I love and appreciate you more than you know.
I want to give a special thank you to Tanner. I wouldn’t have made it as far as I did without him. My daily training buddy who helped strengthen my testimony and my mind. Who got me up to run on days I didn’t want to. I love you brother.
I’ve learned to enjoy the journey and appreciate the views along the way of life. There will always be more finish lines. But there won’t always be the same views.
“A man never steps in the same river twice. For it is never the same river, and never the same man.” - someone a lot smarter than myself probably. I’ll be back Desert Rats. To finally cross that finish line for good.
