While on @fox32chicago with my friends @tiaontv & @nataliebomkelive, Tia shared her perspective: if she were a man, she’d be open to taking a woman to McDonald’s for a first date. We had a good laugh and a friendly debate! 😂🍟 Family, you know I’m the budget guy, but McDonald’s isn’t my first-date choice. I believe in being thoughtful AND staying within what you can afford. You don’t have to spend big to show effort. Neither of us has to choose the same way, but now I want YOUR perspective: Is McDonald’s in 2026 okay for a first date for grown men and women? 👀 Is it about the place, the effort, or the connection? Let’s keep it respectful in the comments. 👇🏾
Lana Del Rey’s Doin’ Time (2019) is actually a cover of a song originally released by the American band Sublime in 1996. Lana recorded her version for the documentary Sublime, later including it on her critically acclaimed album Norman Fucking Rockwell! The song samples the melody of George Gershwin’s 1934 composition Summertime, giving it a musical history stretching back decades. The music video takes inspiration from classic monster movies, featuring a giant version of Lana wandering through Los Angeles before stepping out of a cinema screen.
Repost: @theeblackdailytx Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland just turned a piece of their Houston history into a home for people who need one. The #KnowlesRowlandHouse held its grand opening on Tuesday, October 13, a 31 unit permanent supportive housing development in Midtown Houston for people who have experienced chronic homelessness, with 16 of the units designed to be accessible. Beyoncé and Rowland marked the occasion alongside family, including Tina Knowles and Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter. The building has deep roots. It began as the Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth, built in 1999 with money from Destiny's Child's first hit single, on the campus of the church where both families worshipped. Hurricane Harvey damaged it in 2017 and a fire hit in 2021, leaving it unused until nonprofits Bread of Life and Temenos Community Development Corporation reimagined it as an $8.4 million housing project, backed in part by a $7.2 million Harris County grant. Residents get a full rent subsidy through the Houston Housing Authority, plus services like case management, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, and life skills training. It lands when #Houston needs it, with the city's unhoused population up 16 percent in 2025. Two Destiny's Child icons who came up here chose to leave a legacy that goes beyond music, a place where people can rebuild stability and independence. #Beyonce #KellyRowland #Texas HoustonTX Housing OurPower SupportiveHousing HelpingThoseInNeed
