The saree speaks where words fall silent 🦋💕✨🪷

She’s a hero of mine. This was my favorite Halloween of all time— Despite this private moment of annoyance on a Brooklyn stoop when I wished Ms Rachel wore a sweater — being annoyed and cranky is something she totally accepts, and so do I, along with all other innocent human emotion.

The reason I loved last night so much was that while the veil was thin I witnessed the look of awe and adoration on the faces of preverbal children when they saw me, thinking I was her. Even infants in their parents’ arms would become star struck and wrestle their way away from the home base of their parent to try and be held by me (Ms Rachel). I saw the childlike delight trapped inside self aware adults, too, both coming alive and then immediately suppressed (sadly, most often in fathers attempting to maintain their masculine facade)… ms Rachel manages to be full of rage and sorrow, and actively spreads joy as a practice.

That’s where I’m headed, with her as a distant mentor. Free Palestine! Black and Brown babies deserve to be safe and Matter. Abolish Ice. @msrachelforlittles

Today was the slowest marathon I’ve ever run & it’s the one I’m most proud of.

I’ve never wanted to quit a race more. My legs were done at mile 14, I *tried* to quit at mile 19 but I’m not sure how to? I walked into a medical tent & they just gave me a Tylenol & Vaseline on a stick, so I kept going.

Then I got a text (2nd slide) from my 9 year old (via my wife) and I decided I was going to finish even if I had to walk the rest of the way. The video in slide 3 is me telling him at mile 22 he’s the reason I’m still running.

Somehow I was able to get running again & finished with a smile on my face.

I am so grateful for my family. I am so grateful for New York City and I am so grateful for everyone who took a moment out of their day to cheer me on. Apologies if I miss anyone here!
