$Thrilled to have contributed the cover art to Joy Division Eternal, a box set of 14 CDs and two DVDs covering 16 concerts the band played in 1979 and 1980. Designed by Warren Jackson, Peter Saville, Howard Wakefield and Brett Wickens. -- The six different covers (box, 4 wallets and booklet) show "Sirius Through a Defocused Telescope a-f" 2023 which came about when I wanted to find out if I can film the twinkling of a star. The rapid tiny changes in the light of bright starts seen in the night sky. I chose Sirius the brightest star in the sky to record these images with a 8inch reflector. The cold white light of Sirius was refracted by slight turbulences in the atmosphere and broken into spectral colours, which you can even glimpse with the naked eye sometimes when seeing Sirius in the winter sky above the southern horizon (like tonight). The 'Unknown Pleasures' 1979 album cover by Peter Saville shows graphs from the radio signal of a dying star. -- A true fanboy moment was to have met Gillian Gilbert (of New Order) and Stephen Morris (of Joy Division and New Order) at the Hope and Anchor pub in Islington last week where Stephen was in conversation with Peter Saville, Jon Savage and James Zeiter.
