Tesla just unveiled the long-awaited next-generation Roadster, and it actually left the ground.

At the reveal in Texas, Tesla demonstrated a redesigned two-seater using SpaceX-developed cold-gas thrusters for airborne maneuvers. The car also showed off a fan-based suction system that let it drive upside down during the demo.

Tesla says the new Roadster can hit 0–60 mph in under one second and exceed 230 mph. Production is currently targeted for 2028, nearly a decade after the second-generation Roadster was first teased in 2017.

The wild part is that this is not just a faster EV. Tesla is using aerospace-style hardware to push the Roadster into territory that looks more like a stunt vehicle than a normal sports car.

Whether all of these features ever make it to a road-legal production version is still unclear.

Would you actually want a Roadster with thrusters?

Who do you work for @albomp ? It would seem it isn’t for the Australian people.
