It’s nurses’ week and my heart has been so heavy all week.
Because of it I’ve reflected on how resilient nurses are. As nurses, we face challenges in our personal life, yet still show up for our patients. Work long heavy shifts, yet still show up the next day to provide 12+ hours of care . Witness rapid decline in a patient, yet continue to provide care to our other patients in the midst of it.
Sometimes we carry so much, yet still find a way to care for our patients.
To my fellow nurse colleagues, thank you for pushing through even when it’s hard. Nursing has its challenges but it is so rewarding. The impact we have in healthcare makes a difference 🤍
