Drowning in emotion and dry of words, I turned to one of my greatest loves in life to piece together the many fragments my heart found itself in. With one image and a hell of a story to portray, I lost myself in the silence, the poetry of the lyrics, the pain in my body. It consumed me for months, until one day I was able to breathe again. I was afraid to admit that I had fallen and that it had hurt so deeply, afraid that people would recognize the story as my own, and until the last second of the final performance, I was still afraid, for vulnerability is a terrifying gift and I was sharing it with 800 people. But recognizing pain now in the form of art was worth more than my fears ever were.
There are many things I'm proud of, but this journey might just take the win. Thank you to the stars that guided my path from the dark. Thank you to my dancers for wearing your hearts on your sleeves with me. And to everyone in the audience with teary eyes, thank you for letting us in. This story belongs to all of us. Y a seguir amando siempre aún después de haber amado!
From a much happier place, this is...
