Was a short but successful trip to NYC. Hanging with the @zetaglobal crew was a blast and really enjoyed my talk on stage with @david_a_steinberg at Zeta Live. Talked about resilience, reinvention and life lessons… and had some good humor along the way. Thank you for having me! 🙏🏻
funny how I feel most myself in a dress that a woman in the 50s probably wore whilst writing love letters to her man at war by candlelight, of course with a cup of tea that had gone cold and a record playing softly in the background perhaps she wore it the morning she received his letter back or the day she decided she was better off without him anyways, I wore it to get matcha 🍵 thanks for taking care of the dress, Betty 💌
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said Russia interfered in Britain’s 2016 Brexit referendum, in what is believed to be the first public acknowledgement of such meddling by a British leader. Speaking on The Rest is Politics podcast, Burnham said advisers had confirmed Russian interference after he requested an assessment upon taking office in July. He argued that exposing such activity was important for helping European voters understand how Russia seeks to influence politics in Western democracies. Moscow has repeatedly denied interfering in foreign elections and referendums. Burnham’s comments come amid growing warnings from UK intelligence agencies, following a 2020 parliamentary report that found the government had failed to fully investigate the potential impact of Russian interference on the Brexit vote. I speak for the millions whose voices have been silenced. For those who can’t speak without risking their freedom, their families, or their lives. When I chose this path, I knew what I was standing against. But fear was never part of the agreement. I didn’t start this for recognition, approval, or a seat at anyone’s table. I started because I couldn’t live with myself knowing my people were suffering while I had the freedom to speak and chose silence. For every mother who buried her child. For every woman punished for wanting freedom. For every life stolen. For every Iranian who dreams of a country they’ve never had the chance to live freely in. I don’t know what this journey will cost me. But I know what silence has already cost my people. Till the end. No matter the cost. For my people. For the women of Iran. For the right side of history. For a free and liberated Iran. My voice is free. Until theirs are too. #javidshah #iran #womenlifefreedom #humanrights
