It’s been a journey…
Lacing up again — for the first time in 3 years 🏃♂️💜
In 2020, I tore my ACL and meniscus, fractured my tibia, and it sent me into a dark place. Running had been my life. After surgery and two years of determined rehab, it felt too painful — physically and mentally. I gave up, threw my running watch in a drawer, and drifted from the running community.
I turned to yoga, became a teacher, and found a new tribe. But deep down, I missed running. Eventually, I wasn’t sure if it would still hurt — but I didn’t dare to try.
This weekend, I’m facing that fear and running 10km at the Great Manchester Run.
I’m doing it for
@kidneysforlife, a brilliant local charity that supported my kidney research and helps the patients I care for every day. Their encouragement over the years has meant more than they know.
If you’re able to donate, I’d be so grateful. Every contribution supports life-changing kidney research.
