For my last Senior Sunday, I dedicate it to Dance.
Since the age of two, I’ve stood in front of crowds I couldn’t even see—blinded by the stage lights, yet fully in my element.
From the countless late-night rehearsals at school, the early morning practices (literally at Nimitz dancing at 5 am…), the unbreakable bonds and friendships i made that went beyond the dance room, the excitement I felt after making the team each year. Every one of those moments reminded me why dance is my passion—whether I was performing on the cafeteria stage at Anderson Academy for my parents, under the stadium lights for 3 minutes on the football field for a halftime show, or on a national stage before a panel of judges, there truly is no award for that feeling this art gives me.
As I close the school chapter of my dance journey—having been a part of every dance company at every school I’ve attended—my heart is overflowing with gratitude.
Thank you to every dance teacher i’ve worked with from Reece Academy all the way to Drew Academy🫶🏽
My stage lights will dim on me one final time on June 7, 2025, and when they do, I want it to be known—Little Kaitlyn is so proud of who she became, how far she went, not giving up, and for dancing through every high and low with grace, grit, and heart. You survived 5 school dance teams… AND THE COACHES THAT CAME WITH THEM… what’s next ?
