Yesterday, I had the incredible honor of not only walking the stage but also delivering the Valedictorian Address. There was so much on my heart to say, yet so little time to say it—and if you know me, you know I could’ve talked forever 😂. In the weeks leading up to graduation, everyone kept asking, “Are you nervous to speak in front of everyone?” My answer was always no. My only fear was that my speech wouldn’t resonate with my peers. I just wanted to reach everyone one final time in a memorable, meaningful, positive way…I think I did alright 😉 Being named Valedictorian, people often said I must be the “smartest” in the school—but that was never the case. I wasn’t always the “smartest” in the room (Calc 1 laughed in my face), BUT I was the hardest working. I learned to recognize my strengths and weaknesses, and I faced every challenge with those in mind. I climbed my way to the top with determination—and with the help of the ones around me here and there. As the little girl who used to get in trouble for talking too much in class, it means the world to now be able to share my words (and *some* of my many accolades😘) on such a big stage to so many ears. I’m posting my speech here in hopes that it inspires a few more people. Thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and congratulations—I truly can’t express how grateful I am. With all my heart, Valedictorian Kaitlyn Samone Brown, signing out 🫶🏽 by @kaitlynnsb
“They don’t have no award for that” ~ Drake✍🏽#classof2025🎓❤️ #seniorsunday☀️ #lastseniorsunday⌛️🎓 —————— For my last Senior Sunday, I dedicate it to Dance. Since the age of two, I’ve stood in front of crowds I couldn’t even see—blinded by the stage lights, yet fully in my element. From the countless late-night rehearsals at school, the early morning practices (literally at Nimitz dancing at 5 am…), the unbreakable bonds and friendships i made that went beyond the dance room, the excitement I felt after making the team each year. Every one of those moments reminded me why dance is my passion—whether I was performing on the cafeteria stage at Anderson Academy for my parents, under the stadium lights for 3 minutes on the football field for a halftime show, or on a national stage before a panel of judges, there truly is no award for that feeling this art gives me. As I close the school chapter of my dance journey—having been a part of every dance company at every school I’ve attended—my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you to every dance teacher i’ve worked with from Reece Academy all the way to Drew Academy🫶🏽 My stage lights will dim on me one final time on June 7, 2025, and when they do, I want it to be known—Little Kaitlyn is so proud of who she became, how far she went, not giving up, and for dancing through every high and low with grace, grit, and heart. You survived 5 school dance teams… AND THE COACHES THAT CAME WITH THEM… what’s next ? by @kaitlynnsb
“The dirt that they threw on my name turned to soil and i grew up out it, time for y’all to figure out what y’all gon do about it” ~ Drake✍🏽 #classof2025🎓❤️ #seniorsunday☀️ —————— I’m officially a Certified & Registered Pharmacy Technician! Last Monday, my classmates and I passed our ExCPT exam! Congratulations to us🤍 This journey, from the beginning of the school year to now, has been challenging and full of hard work, yet so fun and rewarding. From spending hours on NHA (NHA ate me up ngl), to memorizing drugs, formulas, and pharmacy laws, plus putting in 100 internship hours in the actual pharmacy — it was all worth it. And I did it all before graduating high school🙂‍↕️ I’ll be at CVS working my first “big girl” job if you need me!😉 by @kaitlynnsb
“The Real is on the Rise” ~ Drake✍🏽 #classof2025🎓❤️ #seniorsunday☀️ ⸻ I’m a college graduate! After qualifying at the end of 1st semester senior year with 74 college credits, on Friday, May 9, 2025, I officially graduated from Lone Star College–North Harris with my Associate of Arts degree. This moment is so special to me because it represents four years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance as a dual credit student. Back in freshman year, after scoring the highest on the PSAT in my school’s graduating class, my counselor, Mrs. Wells, called me into her office and encouraged me to join the dual credit program. I didn’t know much about it, but I took the leap — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Since the summer of 2022, it’s been a nonstop journey of growth. From late nights and early mornings to endless studying, tears of frustration and joy, I’ve pushed through. I gained amazing opportunities, met some of the best people at Lone Star, learned discipline and most importantly, found myself, who/what I want to be in the world, and what I want my future to look like. This program made me grow up faster from sitting in classes with adults and real college students learning rigorous, advanced material— and I’m forever grateful. There were so many times I wanted to give up, but I didn’t. God had a plan, and He brought me through. No one truly understands what it takes to earn this degree unless they’ve done it themselves. So congratulations to me and every hardworking high school student graduating with their #degreebeforediploma — we earned this! As we move on to our next chapter, just remember: if it were easy, everybody would do it! So be PROUD of YOURSELF😉 by @kaitlynnsb
