My latest book, Small Town Living, is a primer on finding your small town to move to or visit. It is told through the stories of 22 people who have moved from big cities to small towns and their great advice for making a similar move. I share my small-town story, too, moving through 7 states and 13 cities, only to move back to a small town, Water Valley, Mississippi, 20 years ago.
My next book in this series, Waterfront Living, which explores small towns near rivers, lakes, oceans, and islands, will be in the Spring of ‘26.
Both in the Living series are on @runningpressbooks, and can be found everywhere books are sold. *Only Small Town Living is out yet.

Purchased “Small Town Living” last Friday at a local shop in the medium-size college town where I currently live (one of 5 college towns I’ve called home). It was quite a coincidence and a little bit of a thrill to see your photograph of the building that houses the restaurant where I held my 30th birthday party in 2005. It’s on page 100 - so if you read this comment you’ll know. I really love how you take the time to photograph and think about the built environment. Will look for your new book too.
