Waterfront Living is coming soon! This book explores what draws us to water and ventures into different communities surrounded by rivers, lakes, oceans, and islands. Something I really wanted to share in this book is getting a peek into water communities at different times of the year. You won’t find only beautiful summer photos, but rather a book for all seasons. Available through the link in my bio, out on @runningpressbooks on May 12th. @highlineliterary by @erinaustenabbott
My latest book, Small Town Living, is a primer on finding your small town to move to or visit. It is told through the stories of 22 people who have moved from big cities to small towns and their great advice for making a similar move. I share my small-town story, too, moving through 7 states and 13 cities, only to move back to a small town, Water Valley, Mississippi, 20 years ago. My next book in this series, Waterfront Living, which explores small towns near rivers, lakes, oceans, and islands, will be in the Spring of ‘26. Both in the Living series are on @runningpressbooks, and can be found everywhere books are sold. *Only Small Town Living is out yet. A few of the transplants featured are @designlovefest, @jojotastic, @wrongmarfa, @heathersundquisthall, and @farmandfolk. Forwarded by @hgtv’s co-host of Home Town, @erinnapier, also a small town resident in Mississippi. @highlineliterary | @paperoverboard | @hachetteus by @erinaustenabbott
Book number two. Family Field Trip. I was and still am so proud of this one, but it came out at the beginning of the pandemic and never took off. It is still a helpful book, complete with over 75 activities to do with your children from home and beyond, to introduce them to the world through art, design, food, culture, nature, and more. On @Chroniclebooks, everywhere books are sold. It’s also full of parent advice from the likes of @amandajanejones, @bevcooks, and @hannahacarpenter @highlineliterary | @paperoverboard by @erinaustenabbott

One of the finest collage artists around! @brejenn is a painter from Meridian, Mississippi where she focuses on real issues and scenes from Mississippi. Congratulations on your @southartsorg win recently. Another from @holliechastain from the show a few years ago. @stackmatic from Water Valley, Mississippi focuses on painting animals in a really clever way. His attention to precision is unmatched. @katedonovan_lifeandhome from Water valley, Mississippi paints beautiful floral scenes that fell transportive. A few years ago I added a community group, giving them a room to raise money for their organization. This year, @oxcm will be creating the room with the theme, The Art of Community, bringing in market treats and selling goods for their upcoming Hometown Hootenanny. Many know @sandersbohlke of Birmingham for his dreamy music, but he will be debuting his art at the show. The Print Devils, part of the @um_printmaking class of @kaleenastasiak is working hard to create classic hotel goods, all made out of paper. I can’t wait to see what all they create! by @erinaustenabbott
Something about the motel show: I see the final room revealed at the same time as the patrons. It’s all a surprise! That is part of the fun and excitement.
