Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu said NEA's investigations so far suggest that some of the haze affecting Singapore originated from fires on land belonging to 7 companies in Indonesia. The companies are PT Bumi Andalas Permai, PT Bumi Mekar Hijau, PT Paramitra Mulia Langgeng, PT Sumatera Alam Anugerah, PT SBA Wood Industries, PT Hutan Lestari Raya and PT Bangkanesia. She was speaking at an Oct. 16 press conference on the haze situation in Singapore. The companies were identified in connection with the haze episodes on Oct. 8 and 9 and are located in Sumatra, Indonesia. Under Singapore's Transboundary Haze Pollution Act (THPA), the National Environment Agency (NEA) will issue preventive measure notices requiring the companies to extinguish fires, prevent them from spreading and stop burning activities on their land. The companies will also be required to submit action plans detailing how they intend to put out the fires and prevent them from recurring. Fu added that Singapore is unable to confirm whether the 7 companies are connected to Singapore-listed palm oil firms or companies elsewhere. Image credit: Canva #mothershipenvironment
James May is the most unexpectedly deadpan comedian in British automotive television history, a former Top Gear presenter who delivered one of the funniest lines in the show’s 22-season run with a completely straight face during a live studio fire while holding a tin of something called Pussy. Top Gear Series 15 Episode 7, the 2010 Christmas special, featured Clarkson, Hammond and May presenting gift ideas for motorists in a candlelit studio setting. Among the gifts was Pussy Natural Energy Drink -- a real, commercially available natural energy drink with a name that Clarkson introduced to his co-presenters with the specific energy of a man who had been waiting the entire week to say it on television. Hammond then demonstrated a quadcopter drone, Clarkson took control of it, and the remote control plane took out the studio lighting. The candles were lit. The romantic atmosphere lasted approximately ninety seconds before Hammond accidentally set his script paper on fire from one of the candles. Clarkson attempted to help and set the small Christmas tree beside Hammond ablaze instead. With the tree now actively burning in a live television studio, May turned to Clarkson, held up the tin with complete composure and suggested they pour some Pussy on it. The studio audience has never fully recovered. May delivered the line with the same expression he uses to discuss tyre compounds, gearbox ratios and the mechanical advantages of a diesel engine. The tree was extinguished. The clip has been viewed more times than most of that season’s car reviews. . Video via top_trio123/tt . #f1 #TopGear
