A massive digital billboard on one of Cairo’s busiest highways was hacked to display pornographic footage, shocking drivers and prompting motorists to stop and record the scene.

According to CNN, the incident took place on Egypt’s 26th of July Axis, with the hackers displaying their names and a Telegram channel on the screen.

Egypt’s Interior Ministry confirmed the cyberattack, saying the breach affected advertising screens in multiple countries simultaneously. Similar incidents were reported in Iraq, Malaysia and Brazil. A Telegram account linked to the footage later posted a message condemning Egypt’s government as a dictatorship, while authorities announced that legal proceedings had begun.
