Had so much fun! Let’s maybe not do that again

Soon after her 40th birthday, professional make-up artist Cher Webb noticed the shift. Having once had volume in spades, years of fertility treatment and difficult life events had taken its toll. “When I look back at videos and photographs of me from the past, it’s shocking how drastically my hair has thinned.

Webb has switched up her styling products for ones that give root lift and a modern, mussed-up texture. “I’ve been using Sam McKnight’s Cool Girl Barely There Texture Mist for years. It’s my go-to for adding texture and a lived-in feel,” she disclosed on the day of our photo shoot.

McKnight is one of the world’s leading hairstylists and is known for creating soft volume for the red carpet (Nicole Kidman is a current client), catwalk shows, designer campaigns and cover shoots, making him the obvious choice for Webb’s hair transformation. With four hairstyles to pull from, McKnight showed Webb the signature formula he used to thicken fine hair.
