When M.I.A. stands for MOTHER IN ACTION, then be M.I.A as much as possible!

I’ve had the time of my life learning alongside my children. Honored that any of you want to implement some of these to your existing curriculums. 🤗

Omugwo is an ancient Igbo tradition that happens during the first few weeks/months post partum. It’s the primary role of the new mother’s mother or any experienced female family member of the new mother (rarely from the father’s side). I’ve spent the past few days caring for my sister alongside my mother and taking care of the baby. The main aim of Omugwo practice is to take over child care from the new mom, nurse the new mom to health and basically pamper her and I must say I’m having a great time doing this and watching my sister rest and flourish.

📌 Pro tip when bathing is baby is to wash the head last so the baby doesn’t catch a cold 🤗
.
In general, how long does Omugwo last where you come from?? Let’s discuss 👇🏽👇🏽
