A little pinch-me moment… Yesterday, I had the honour of being one of three guest speakers for @voguebusiness aboard the magnificent superyacht Kismet in the heart of London, speaking to 150 leaders from the fashion industry. The bar for panel talks has certainly been set high! From starting my business with a little stand at a horse show to moments like this, I’ll never forget where it all began. A little reminder to keep dreaming big, working hard and believing in yourself. You never know where that dream might take you. X
For years, I was afraid of what people might think of me. ❤️ I worried about being judged, about people not understanding me, and about what would happen if I showed this side of myself to the world. And looking back, I realize how much time I spent worrying about things that hadn’t even happened yet. Accepting myself didn’t happen overnight. It took time to become comfortable with who I am, to stop questioning whether it was okay to enjoy the things I love, and to realize that I don’t need everyone’s approval to be happy. I’m a guy who loves dressing up, doing makeup, wearing heels and expressing a feminine side of myself. And for a long time, I struggled with accepting that those things could simply be part of who I am. But here’s something I’ve learned along the way: you don’t have to fit into someone else’s expectations to be happy with yourself. 💕 And I think that’s something so many of us struggle with, whether it’s about how we look, what we wear, who we love, or simply being a little different from what others expect. These days, I’m much more comfortable being Julia. I go shopping, go out, meet new people and enjoy moments I once thought I’d never have the confidence to experience. Of course, I still have insecurities. We all do. But I’m no longer letting the fear of being judged decide what I can or cannot enjoy. If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: Don’t spend so much of your life worrying about what other people might think. You deserve to enjoy being yourself, too. ❤️ And if you’re reading this while struggling with accepting a part of yourself, whatever that may be, I hope you’ll give yourself the time and kindness you deserve. Life is too short to hide the things that make you happy. 🥹💕 What’s something you’ve learned about accepting yourself as you’ve gotten older? ✨ #SelfAcceptance #BeYourself #Confidence #Crossdressing #SelfLove
