Light exposure is often one of the most overlooked areas of improving the quality and quantity of sleep. Exposing the skin and eyes to sunlight in the early morning hours reinforces your circadian rhythm, while avoiding blue light after sunset allows your brain to produce sufficient melatonin.

Some of the most impactful daily rhythms we like to lean into to support the most essential pillar of our health—sleep, from sunrise to sunset—include:

🌞 getting early morning sunlight on the skin and in the eyes

🌊 spending intentional time outdoors (gardening or swimming in natural bodies of water can be especially restorative)

🌅 watching the sunset to help wind down

🕯️ using red light or candlelight once the sun has set

👓 wearing blue light blockers when using devices in the evening

🍒 winding down with magnesium glycinate, tart cherry juice, or chamomile for an added nudge toward deeper rest
