Follow (US) @MEMEZAR for more ❤️ Where we all fell in love with Tom Holland The scene comes from Tom Holland and Zendaya’s appearance on Lip Sync Battle in May 2017, during the promotional tour for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Zendaya opened the episode with a performance of Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic,” while Tom surprised everyone with an elaborate routine that began with Gene Kelly’s “Singin’ in the Rain” before transitioning into Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” Tom’s performance featured a dramatic costume change, energetic choreography, and an impressive dance routine complete with an actual umbrella. Zendaya’s reactions throughout the performance became just as memorable as the routine itself. The clip went viral because of Tom’s unexpected stage confidence, dancing skills, and the playful chemistry between the two co-stars, making it one of the most iconic moments in Lip Sync Battle history.
I’m deeply saddened about this news. This photo was taken when we played together in Tokyo this past September. He wasn’t looking very well and actually performed his set while seated, but it was incredible, 100% pure “Magic” set. It breaks my heart that this became the final moment with him. As everybody knows, he was the true originator who shaped the blueprint of techno - a format that has since become one of the biggest club music genres in the world. Without him, techno simply wouldn’t exist. When I first started producing, his music had a profound influence on me. I studied his track structures and tones inside out, listening to each of his songs thousands of times. Once I established myself as a professional artist, I had the privilege of playing alongside him around the world as his fellow @randsrecords label mate. We shared stages across Europe - in countries like Belgium and Spain - at DEMF in Detroit, and, of course, many times here in Japan. I first met him back in ’94 in Gent Belgium, when I was invited to a house party at a home of an R&S staff. I remember we were eating a local rabbit stew cooked in Trappist beer when he suddenly asked for ice cream. He was a wonderful mentor who was usually quiet and of few words, but always full of humor whenever he spoke. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest in peace, Juan Atkins.
