Sometimes I get so focused on what’s next that I forget to give myself credit for what I’ve already built. Founder, designer, creative director, content creator, production team—and the model in front of the camera. I wear a lot of hats for @ettisswim , and I’m proud of every part of this journey. If you’re building something of your own, keep showing up. You never know who’s finding courage in watching you do it. 🤍

I painted my toenails white in a hotel room at eleven pm because I had nothing else to do and no one to do it with and honestly that’s either the saddest or the most peaceful thing I’ve ever said and I genuinely can’t decide which. layover nights are a whole different version of me and I think she might be my favourite one. she sits on the floor in front of the mirror and takes selfies with her tongue out like she’s twenty-one again and she doesn’t care that nobody’s watching because that’s the whole point. she stands at the window and watches the city change from daylight to darkness and thinks about all the people out there living their lives while she’s up here in a room that smells like clean sheets and someone else’s perfume. she drags her suitcase around like it’s a small child that won’t behave and leaves it open on the floor because unpacking properly is for people who stay longer than sixteen hours. she lies on the bed diagonally because she can because there’s nobody there to tell her she’s taking up too much space and that right there is the thing about being single that nobody talks about. the freedom of a hotel bed all to yourself is genuinely underrated and I will not hear otherwise. the doorway shots happened because the lighting was perfect and I was bored and sometimes a girl just needs to stand in a doorframe and feel something. if you’ve ever been alone in a hotel room and felt completely at peace with it then you understand exactly what this carousel is about and if you’ve ever wished you were the reason she wasn’t alone then maybe you should tell her that 🖤
