Oop! 👀 #SpeedyMorman had some words for a social media user who expressed interest in working with #AngelReese on her basketball game. After the user asked Speedy to help make the connection, Speedy questioned what he could possibly teach the #WNBA star, pointing to her accomplishments, including being an NCAA national champion, WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, and multiple-time All-Star. Speedy ended his response with a blunt “STFU.” (📸: @gettyimages)
At 30, Elizabeth Holmes was worth an estimated $4.5 billion. By 38, she had been sentenced to federal prison. Theranos began with an extraordinary promise, to replace traditional blood draws with a few drops from a finger prick. Investors bought in. Walgreens put the service into stores. Some of America’s most powerful figures joined the board. By 2014, Theranos was valued at $9 billion. But the technology couldn’t reliably do what Holmes claimed. In 2015, a Wall Street Journal investigation began exposing the gap between the company’s promises and what was actually happening inside its labs. Three years later, Theranos was gone. Holmes was eventually convicted on four counts of defrauding investors and sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison. But she still maintains her innocence. Her conviction was upheld on appeal in 2025, she later sought a commutation from President Donald Trump, and now a new documentary filmed partly in the final weeks before she entered prison is putting her back in the spotlight. Theranos collapsed years ago. But Elizabeth Holmes is still trying to tell her side of the story.
