For years, I knew something was wrong with my body. I went from doctor to doctor, trying to explain the pain and symptoms that were taking over my life, only to be told that nothing was wrong. Eventually, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS. Endometriosis meant surgery. I underwent excision surgery in 2023 to remove the disease tissue growing inside my body after years of pain and unanswered questions. It was a major moment in my life, both physically and emotionally. I finally had an explanation for what I had been experiencing, but surgery wasn’t the end of my health journey. Despite treatment, lifestyle changes, and continuing to search for answers, my symptoms persisted. The pain began affecting my entire body. Eventually, I was diagnosed with lupus, a serious autoimmune disease that can affect multiple organs and become life-threatening. Research has found associations between endometriosis and certain autoimmune diseases, including lupus, although we still have much to learn about why these conditions overlap. Living through this has made me think deeply about women’s health, the effects of chronic illness on the body, and how much we still don’t understand. Too many women are taught to normalize debilitating pain instead of being given answers, support, and appropriate care. I know how isolating it feels to fight for answers while trying to keep your life moving. I also know how fortunate I am to have a supportive family and access to medical care. Not everyone has those resources, and that is one of the reasons this matters so much to me. I used to think I’d wait until I had my health figured out before sharing my story. But I don’t want to wait for a perfect ending to start a conversation that needs to be happening now. I’m incredibly grateful to be getting involved with the Endometriosis Foundation and to contribute to the work being done around endometriosis awareness and women’s reproductive health. I’m excited to share more soon. For now, I wanted to start by sharing an overview of my story, because no woman should have to fight this hard to be heard. 💛
October 2nd Wrightsville Beach North Carolina the sky, the ocean, and the tree line all came alive. Multiple orbs were witnessed by the group—some moving high in the sky, others appearing over the water, and several rising up out of the forest behind us. The activity was steady and unmistakable. People were filled with excitement some were crying some filmed, and stood in quiet awe as the lights appeared from different directions at the same time. It never gets old watching this phenomenon show up and change the hearts and minds of the people. Something extraordinary is unfolding right in front of us. Thank you to everyone who came out. More nights like this are coming. #UFOOfGOD #Orbs #Skywatch #WrightsvilleBeach #CapeFear OrbsOfLight Phenomenon
Corruption has been one of the biggest obstacles to development in parts of Africa, with billions of dollars in foreign aid and public funds failing to reach the people they were intended to help. In some countries, officials have been accused of diverting money meant for schools, hospitals, infrastructure, or disaster relief into private bank accounts, luxury homes, expensive vehicles, and other personal purchases. While many aid programs have achieved meaningful results, weak oversight and poor governance have allowed some resources to be misused or stolen. Corruption is not unique to Africa, and many African countries have made significant progress in improving transparency and accountability. Across the continent, journalists, anti-corruption agencies, and ordinary citizens have exposed scandals and pushed for reforms despite facing major challenges. The greatest victims of corruption are often the people who rely on public services, as money intended to improve their lives instead enriches a small number of individuals. #sarcasm #corruption #africa #viral #african
