Throwback to solo crossing from Miami to the Bahamas, cleared in and made my way to Great Sale Cay. Chatter on the radio about a system rolling in so I was like cool guess I’ll drop sail and tuck in for the night. About 8-10 min after dropping the main was still looking for a spot to anchor and - wham - massive gust came through. Would have been a whole different situation if I had the main still up that close to land and got very lucky. Motored up high into the protected bay and anchored next to a handful of boats and rode out a pretty wild storm for about 36 hours. Only had one album saved to my Spotify and it was junior boys so just played that on realest hahaha. Another boat dragged anchor for close to a mile 40ft off starboard which was wild. Watched a powerboat try to anchor after the blow hit and guy couldn’t find holding for 3 hours and damn near hit every one of the 5 boats in the bay and hollering on the radio about his boat. After the storm cleared beelined it to Hopetown and sailed into anchor way out after the hub on my alternator failed. Wild couple days lol. #thepleasurechannel @xformdave @ludakrisp
