New details in the Nolan Wells case. Nolan Wells’ family has released a 292 page analysis of his phone, compiled by forensic firm Garrett Discovery, showing messages from 29 group chats his friends were in after the 18 year old disappeared from Mississippi’s Horn Island on the Fourth of July. The messages show his friends asking where he was overnight and questioning why he would stay behind without his phone. One friend wrote that there was “definitely some sus” going on. As police started contacting them, one advised the group to ask for an attorney if questioned, saying it didn’t mean they were guilty. Others wrote “Only facts,” “just stick to what you know happened” and “We have nothing to hide.” On July 14, one friend suggested going to Nolan’s funeral with “all our other Black friends to prove a statement for the media.” Another said they should ask his mother first. The forensic expert behind the report has said missing Snapchat messages were unsent remotely by other users, not deleted from Nolan’s phone. In September, a grand jury unanimously declined to indict anyone, said his death was consistent with drowning and called the allegations against his friends “public clamor and private malice.” The official cause and manner of death remain undetermined, and his family is still calling for a federal investigation. Rest in peace, Nolan.
Off season came a little bit earlier than expected (and wanted) for this year. No world champs for me for the second year in a row 🥲 Cleaned up some dodgy cartilage on the left knee this morning, but happy to report it all went very smoothly! Back home now with family and a very brave guard dog. Big thankyou to everyone who has reached out & to the team involved in getting this whole process done so efficiently. Feeling very lucky for my support team right about now! Now we rehab & look ahead to 2027 👀
