“Forest School has been one of the very best decisions that our family has made. Our son learns through movement and action and Forest School has given him the opportunity to do just that. He has the space and freedom to grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

His physical capability has soared- he has the endurance for all day hikes, the sure footed ability to navigate all terrains, the body strength to climb, hang, and swing. His emotional maturity has grown just as much- he has learned how to navigate social situations with a variety of age groups, how to find the best compromise when there are multiple competing needs in a group, how to handle adverse weather or sudden changes outside of anyone’s control, and how to listen to his body and respect its needs. He has also gotten an incredible education about natural sciences. His curiosity and care for the nature world is an incredible thing to witness. He’s learned about natural cycles of all types- seasons, weather, life, plants, bugs, etc. He’s learned how to map out paths, pay attention to his surroundings, and journal his discoveries. Seeing how much the kids can learn through exploration and play has been such a joy to witness.

We are so thankful for the opportunity we have through Forest School. Learning comes in all shapes and sizes and this way of learning has been exactly what our kid and family as a whole needs. We love that he has a place to grow at his own pace with thoughtful and caring teachers helping guide, teach, and encourage him along the way.“
