King of the sit spot. ✨ by @37northyouth

We played with fire this week at Forest School, and it was so beautiful to watch the kids respect the power of the matches. Some kids tried something really scary, and earned a rep in staying calm under pressure. Other kids had the courage to say "I'm not ready". It was unreal to see how the group responded kindly to each child's hesitation and final choice.

Everything we expected to see was flipped. The oldest passed and the youngest tried. We got to talk about how we all bloom at different ages and stages, and there is no "right" way to grow. The differences between us, the variety of flowers, is what creates beautiful communities. by @37northyouth

Days like this ✨ by @37northyouth

It’s the days like today when the magic happens. Convenience and comfort tell us to stay inside. We worry it’s too wet. Too cold. But so much joy is right on the other side of hard.

The kids were on fire, full of life today. Talking nonstop, singing, laughing. Taking off layers. We heard the first sound of snow hitting the fallen leaves on the forest floor. We closed our eyes and listened. We saw frost flowers and wondered out loud with our friends. We walked a mile in the quiet woods, the woods we call ours. And then, we post a photo and write a sappy caption from our warm homes because our hearts are so full of gratitude for all of it. by @37northyouth

Holding on to these magical Fall days as tightly as we can ✨ by @37northyouth

Beneath the glow of the Supermoon, our Boys & Girls Club teens wandered through the Ozarks on a moonlit trail—lanterns in hand, laughter in the air, and curiosity leading the way. 🌕✨

The night unfolded with shimmering light, a glowing moth sheet, and the warmth of a campfire shared over s’mores and hot chocolate. 🔥🦋
Moments like these spark more than adventure—they ignite wonder, confidence, and a lifelong love for the natural world.

FULL TESTIMONIAL BELOW //

“Forest School has been one of the very best decisions that our family has made. Our son learns through movement and action and Forest School has given him the opportunity to do just that. He has the space and freedom to grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
.
His physical capability has soared- he has the endurance for all day hikes, the sure footed ability to navigate all terrains, the body strength to climb, hang, and swing. His emotional maturity has grown just as much- he has learned how to navigate social situations with a variety of age groups, how to find the best compromise when there are multiple competing needs in a group, how to handle adverse weather or sudden changes outside of anyone’s control, and how to listen to his body and respect its needs. He has also gotten an incredible education about natural sciences. His curiosity and care for the nature world is an incredible thing to witness. He’s learned about natural cycles of all types- seasons, weather, life, plants, bugs, etc. He’s learned how to map out paths, pay attention to his surroundings, and journal his discoveries. Seeing how much the kids can learn through exploration and play has been such a joy to witness.
.
We are so thankful for the opportunity we have through Forest School. Learning comes in all shapes and sizes and this way of learning has been exactly what our kid and family as a whole needs. We love that he has a place to grow at his own pace with thoughtful and caring teachers helping guide, teach, and encourage him along the way.“
