The priest, identified as Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari, was celebrating Mass at the Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Church on Saturday, October 17, 2026, when the cross positioned behind the altar became detached and fell on him. The incident was captured during a livestream of the Mass. Videos circulating online show the cross falling onto the priest as worshippers reacted and rushed to assist him.
