![Delhi Police on Sunday, October 11, released a video showing officers informing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke about his grandmother’s de@th while he was in detention. Police claimed they offered assistance to help him travel home for the funer@l, which he declined.
Police Version
Deputy Commissioner of Police Neha Yadav said officers offered travel arrangements and help contacting his family. The video was released to counter allegations that Dipke was not informed about the bere@vement.
Abhijeet Dipke’s Response
Dipke disputed the police’s account, alleging that he was not allowed to contact his family when he sought to do so. He was detained on October 10 over a planned protest in Delhi and released the following day.
