Today, on July 13th, 2025 I have publicly chose to give my life & soul to Christ. I did not grow up as a christian nor in a church. This was a decision I am proud to say I made whole heartedly on my own. The most important one of my life. Some people may think that baptism is something used to just “wash away sins” which is incorrect. I quote “Baptism is a way to signify a believer’s union with Christ…marking a public declaration of faith and a new beginning in Christ.” This goes to saying that me being baptized does not mean I am perfect, nor will I ever be. But it does mean that I will try my best to represent who Jesus Christ is to both non believers and believers. I will continue to work on & better myself not only for me, but for others.

People would (and still do) ask me, “How do you remain smiling and bubbly after tearing your acl & meniscus not once, but twice… back to back at that?!” My answer would and will always be “I know God has a plan for me.” On my darkest days, when I felt lost and alone, Jesus was the only one who stayed. He gave me peace when nothing else could, and strength when I had none left. Even in silence, he was there, guiding me through.

Thank you to the SLBC community for supporting me (specifically this past month) on my journey. Thank you to Ms.Gaines for taking the time to help teach me about the foundation of Christ aswell as other aspects that come with him. And special thanks to Pastor Clayton & Kaylah for not only welcoming me with open arms and showing me instant love, but also helping me along the ropes of my new chapter. 🤍
