हर लम्हा ही ज़िन्दगी है
तुम क्या ढूँढ रहे हो ?

Kate Winslet’s interview with @60minutes highlights a double standard that exists among actors and actresses. If women choose to show the world their natural self, on screen or off, it’s incredibly brave and courageous. If men do the same, it’s not regarded in the same manner, ever.

But Kate continues to love every version of herself, whether it’s for a silver-screen role or otherwise: “I’m more comfortable in myself as each year passes. It enables me to allow the opinions of others to evaporate.”

I swear NYC does something to our souls that I can’t even explain. 🥹🗽❤️

We’ve spent a lot of time in the city for work over the last month, and every trip makes us fall a little more in love with it. But I think the biggest thing for me has been seeing just how good it’s been for Kay. With everything she’s been through with her health, watching her wake up every morning excited to get outside, walk around for hours, explore, and actually have the energy to enjoy it all has meant more to me than I can explain. I haven’t seen her this happy and motivated in a long time, and I know being there has helped her just as much mentally as it has physically.

And the girls absolutely THRIVE there. 🥹 I’ve never seen Ellie make so many little friends in one afternoon. We’d take them to the playgrounds and she’d immediately run off to play like she’d known these kids forever. She’s asked to go back to the “New York City park” almost every day since we’ve been home. 😂❤️ Watching both girls spend their days outside, making friends, exploring, and just being kids has been one of my favorite parts of these trips.

I don’t think we realize how much our environment affects us sometimes. Living in Dallas, where it’s 90+ degrees for so much of the year, makes it hard to enjoy being outside. There are so many days when it’s just too hot to take the girls to the park or even go for a walk. And I really think that starts to affect you mentally after a while. Being in NYC reminded us how good it feels to just get outside and LIVE.

But it’s more than just the weather or the parks. There’s something about New York that brings out better versions of both of us. Not different people, just happier, more motivated, more inspired versions of ourselves. We actually want to get up early, go do things, meet people, explore, and make the most of every day. It’s hard to explain, but we both feel it every time we’re there.

We’ve traveled to some incredible places, but nowhere has ever made us feel quite like NYC does. And seeing how happy Kay and the girls are there makes me love it even more.

We’re already counting down the days until we get back. ❤️
