We said we weren’t going to have an engagement party, so our friends surprised us with one during our night out last night 🥹💍❤️ We seriously have the best friends ever!! The perfect way to celebrate doing our favourite thing: dancing to dubstep all night . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #engagementparty #engaged #torontonightlife #blogto #torontolife
Today we’re listening to Elegies in C minor: (Opus 1) Qula Kwedini by the late Zim Ngqawana. Ngqawana was a remarkable composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music brought jazz into conversation with Xhosa musical traditions. He drew on his cultural heritage alongside his spiritual and philosophical interests. His work moved between intricate compositions and free improvisation. Interestingly, Batsumi’s Itumeleng, released in 1974, is the original recording sampled in Ngqawana’s track. Decades later, The Brother Moves On returned to Batsumi’s music with Itumeleng Revisited, bringing it into conversation with a new generation of South African musicians. Elegies in C minor: (Opus 1) Qula Kwedini draws on the traditional Xhosa song Kula kweDini, associated with important communal events surrounding initiation. As described in the National Museum’s account of Mzigojo’s solo exhibition, the sacred song is traditionally sung to herald events such as the return of young men from initiation school. Other accounts also connect it to stick-fighting traditions and the passage into manhood. Ngqawana’s interpretation brings this cultural heritage into a jazz setting. Many of the artists I’ve already spoken about here were once members of his band! 16/31 Days of Jazzober! 🧑🏾‍🍳🎷 #jazz #southafricanjazz #africanjazz #afrojazz #zimngqawana
Take a breath, sweetheart. 😏 You don't have to impress me every second. 😈 Just be interesting when it counts. 💋 #foryou #fyp #exploremore #darkromance #dominant
Oh yeah, this looks like fun. 😬🫠🫠😂😂😂😂 Thanks flag wranglers. You did a great job!!!!!
62.5kg vs 70kg 10 months apart- starting point of prep on the right and starting point of offseason on the left. Can’t believe the progress we have made from a mini off season together the back end of 2025 to prepping for the universe and now into off season. This off season means a lot to both of us and next year when I step on stage I want to leave my mark. Never felt so obsessed with bodybuilding as I do now. Apart from a few grooves along the way as everyone knows I love a boogie I think I’ve pretty much started to nail this bodybuilding life. Finally saw this year my true potential when I go all in with it. Thank you the most to Christian who saw my potential from the get go .. cause looking at that right photo now I’m like 🙂 what do u see bro 🤣 what do you mean figure competitor 😂
Smiles all around 😊🤸‍♀️
