Every family seems to have one person who proudly says, “We’re not getting a cat.” Most of the time, it’s Dad. He insists the cat isn’t allowed on the furniture, says he doesn’t want the responsibility, and claims he’ll have nothing to do with it. Everyone hears the speech… but somehow, the cat ends up coming home anyway.

Fast forward a few months, and Dad is the cat’s favorite human. He’s the one secretly buying the expensive treats, building little cardboard forts, and making sure the food bowl is never empty. If anyone asks, he’ll still say, “It’s not my cat,” even as the cat is curled up asleep on his lap.

The funniest part is watching the rules slowly disappear. “The cat isn’t sleeping in my bed,” turns into, “Don’t wake him up—he’s comfortable.” “No people food,” becomes tiny bites of chicken magically appearing under the table. Before long, Dad is taking pictures of the cat, talking to it like an old friend, and worrying if it’s been asleep for too long.

Everyone knows how the story ends. The dad who didn’t want a cat becomes the person most obsessed with it. He’ll deny it every chance he gets, but his camera roll is full of cat photos, he knows exactly what every meow means, and he somehow becomes the first person the cat looks for every morning. The cat knew all along—it just had to win him over one nap at a time.#cat #fyp #funny #funnycat
