If you're with somebody who's ambitious and you're starting to feel like you're taking a backseat to their dreams, I want you to ask yourself something-

What are YOUR ambitions?

There is more to life than being somebody's girlfriend, wife, or mother.

And ambition has nothing to do with how much money you make. You need something in your life that matters to YOU.

On this episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast, I sat down with my daughter @sawyerrobbins to talk about why having your own ambitions matters and how to build a life you love outside of a relationship.

All across the country, I’ve heard from folks who are sick and tired of what they’re seeing from politicians right now. This Election Day, we have the power to vote for the candidates who will bring about the change we need.

Georgia, let’s make history by voting for @KeishaBottoms as your next Governor and re-electing @JonOssoff to the U.S. Senate.

Ohio, let’s send @Sherrod Brown to the Senate and make @AmyActonOH your next Governor.

Michigan, @AbdulElSayed will be an outstanding senator, and @JocelynBenson will make you proud as governor.

If we vote for these candidates and Democrats up and down the ballot on November 3rd, we can help change the direction of this country. So make a plan to vote today at IWillVote.com.

Some heavy surf today 😳
The power of the ocean is no joke.

But I’ll say it again, if we had sand on our coastline like a TON of sand these properties and roads and public access points, infrastructure and parking lots for tourism etc. would be protected. Along with Coastal Armoring also.

Just “letting the ocean destroy development” isn’t the answer in my opinion, and I DO NOT own a house on the sand or beach for the record. And for the record these homes are built on Bedrock NOT sand, and actually there used to be sand in front of these homes. We’re humans we develop we grow and the cause and effect of course, happen. So with all of the development all around and upstream and the 80,000 damns that have been built in the USA. Over 1,400 damns in California Alone, and 100 in SoCal which is proven to stop sand from coming down our creeks, rivers and streams which is over 60% of where our coastline gets its sand from. This is the natural process of sand replenishment that has been choked off.

So what has to happen is that humans have to bring that missing surplus of trapped sand or supply to our coastline now. Also coastal armoring and riprap to protect important infrastructure, public access, roads and yes property and homes. Protecting development is better than letting them just fall into the ocean, causing more debris to end up in the oceans.

Either way we have to do something and “not doing anything” is not a good idea in my opinion. In the Netherlands they bring in TONS of sand regularly. Offshore Dredging ships extract roughly 12 million cubic meters of sand every year from deep beds in the North Sea (typically 5 to 10+ kilometers offshore) -

Huntington Beach brings sand in, San Clemente and now Newport Beach. If we don’t do anything then all of the beaches are going to go away and no more Skimboarding or chilling on the beach. What do you think? 🤔
