LINK TO ORDER IN BIO 🐾 The Parisian Poodle is available to order TODAY until Wednesday! I wrote and illustrated this book and decided to self-publish so I could offer some fun ways to have you become a part of the story and make this book a reflection of our amazing community here 🐾This way I can also (hopefully) get it to you before the end of this year! MERCI BEAUCOUP for all your support and kindness so far! This book will NOT be on Amazon or any large retailers. I’m hoping to get it into some small, local bookstores 🙏🏻 but there is no guarantee. The kickstarter will cover the print run for the orders placed over the next 3 days so you want to ensure you get a copy, definitely order now. Self publishing has been a wonderful experience but one drawback is you don’t benefit from the big discounts of printing books in large quantities or shipping discounts. This book will be hardcover and printed with the highest quality paper and color possible so it’s something that can be on your bookshelf forever ❤️
Insecurity Didn’t Start With Tinubu — Former Reps Speaker Yakubu Dogara Says Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said Nigeria’s insecurity predates President Bola Tinubu’s administration, blaming years of porous borders, illegal arms proliferation, youth unemployment and extremist ideologies. Dogara, Chancellor of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, spoke at the institution’s 16th convocation ceremony, where 836 graduands received various academic qualifications. “Insecurity in Nigeria did not begin with this administration. This is no excuse, because the facts need no defence. Terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and communal violence did not arrive in 2023,” he said. He said the challenges had developed over several years, with their roots extending beyond Tinubu’s assumption of office in May 2023. However, he noted that Tinubu had consistently identified national security as a major responsibility of his administration. Congratulating the graduands, Dogara said Nigeria needed their talents, creativity and innovation. Meanwhile, the Pro-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, expressed concern about the opportunities awaiting graduates after leaving school, despite the country’s expansion of tertiary education. Citing National Universities Commission figures, he said Nigeria had 312 universities as of June 2026, comprising 77 federal, 67 state-owned and 168 private institutions. He described the institutions as a huge investment in human capital, noting the sacrifices made by parents, governments and lecturers to produce skilled professionals. However, he questioned the opportunities available to graduates after completing their studies. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omolola Irinoye, said the university remained committed to providing quality education that combines intellectual development, practical skills, character building and social responsibility.
