👮🤣 The Greensboro Police have made a peculiar request to the public, encouraging people to snitch on their drug dealers if they have been shortchanged.

If you ask me what my biggest blessing in life is, without a second thought, I’d say being born as this beautiful man’s daughter. My Vappa. ❤️

If you ask me who the kindest, most empathetic and understanding person I know is, my answer will always be Vappa.

He is the first true feminist I have ever known, even before I learnt what feminism meant. I grew up watching him cherish Umma, respect her independence and stand beside her as an equal. He never sat me down to teach me what a healthy marriage should look like. I watched my parents cook together, respect each other and stand by each other. Fawaz recently told me that in almost two months of living with my parents, he had never once seen them fight or argue. And I thought about how lucky I have been to grow up witnessing a love like theirs.

Vappa has unknowingly set the bar so high for every man in my life, and I will forever be grateful for that.

Now, as I walk through one of the biggest uncertainties of my life, I watch him find happiness wherever he can. A walk in the park. A new tree or plant. Beautiful weather. Even a 50p drink in a supermarket. The way his eyes light up when he discovers something new, the curiosity with which he looks at the world, the gratitude he expresses for the smallest things. He is in his fifties, yet there is a little boy inside him who still knows how to be amazed by life.

And somewhere along the way, I have realised how much of that I had taken for granted. How many little things I had walked past without noticing. How much there is to be grateful for, even when life feels unbearably uncertain.

Watching him now, I am learning all over again that kindness is never wasted, that happiness doesn’t have to be grand to be real, and that we can carry our own pain without making the world around us a sadder place.

So, if you ask me what my biggest flex in life is, it isn’t anything I have achieved, anything I own, or anything I have become.

It is that I was born as the daughter of one of the kindest human beings I have ever known.

A man who taught me what love, respect, empathy and feminism look like without ever needing to name them.

And I get to call him my Vappa 💎💕❤️
