a year agoWay to go brother. The more we have these conversations, the less weāll see tragedy in our community.
a year agoIām looking forward to getting into it. Vacation is coming up so Iāve got nothing but time to dig in. Any chance youāll be uploading to Spotify in the future?
a year agoThanks for doing that Mark⦠and cops (as well as civilians and other first responders) should definitely take the time to read different chapters in your book even if theyāre not the type of person that wants to invest in reading an entire book⦠Markās book is arguably the best out there on law-enforcement when it comes to understanding, mental health and wellness He summarizes classic material from Dave Grossman, and Kevin Gilmartin for example, and then backfill 20 years of updated research along with many other well-known authors around issues concerning mental health Also something that sets Mark apart from other books on police mental health - he recognized he was struggling and risked his spot on SWAT to call a time out and do some therapy and other tough inner work like journaling. Then he came back to SWAT and work as an FTO. He is a warrior, and not one of these crash and burn stories which so many of the other books and speakers are about cops that had to quit due to the stress or medically retire from PTSD after hitting rock-bottom⦠and then their message is simply āItās OK not to be OKā and ask for help before you screw up your life like I did. That doesnāt resonate with a lot of people unless they are also hitting rock bottom. Mark is a warrior and an intellectual whoās done some amazing research to back up his life experience. Please consider getting his book and watching his podcasts.
