For a long time, I thought loving deeply meant saving people.
I saw their pain and poured myself in — hoping maybe if I loved them HARD enough, they’d heal.
But deep down… I was just trying to prove I was worthy of being chosen.
If you’ve ever found yourself drawn to the broken ones, the distant ones, the almosts…
You’re not weak. You’re not broken. You’re just someone who’s had to become the love they were missing.
But here’s what I learned when the pain finally cracked open some peace:
1. You weren’t wrong for loving them.
You just didn’t realize you were loving in the hopes of finally being seen.
What you gave was real — but real doesn’t always mean right for you.
2. Some people only know how to receive love — not give it.
And if you’re always the giver, you’ll mistake exhaustion for intimacy.
You’ll confuse emotional labor with emotional connection.
3. Self-understanding is the way out.
Here are 3 questions that helped me shift everything:
– What part of me keeps chasing what doesn’t choose me?
– Am I trying to prove I’m enough… or allowing myself to just be enough?
– If I stop rescuing others, what would I need to rescue in myself?
Let this be your reminder:
You’re not unlovable.
You’re just done being the bandage for people who won’t heal.
Take your love back.
And give it to someone who sees you clearly.
Start with you.
If this hit deep — journal on it tonight.
Or share this to someone who may be going through this.
You’re not alone in this.
Your brother is here for you🫂
