1 minute of hanging. Instant ADHD regulation. 👇 Hanging looks simple, but his brain and body are working hard the whole time. Here’s why this kind of heavy work can support some kids in feeling calmer, more grounded, and ready to engage: 🔹 REGULATION His grip, shoulders, and trunk muscles contract to hold him up. Receptors in his muscles, tendons, and joints send his brain information about force, effort, and body position. That’s proprioceptive input. 🔹 BODY CONTROL + SUSTAINED EFFORT To stay on the bar, he has to maintain his grip, track his body position, and adjust through his shoulders and trunk. His brain is processing proprioceptive feedback and coordinating the movement the whole time. 🔹 STRENGTH + BODY CONTROL His grip, shoulders, and core work against gravity while his brain adjusts his body position. Start with 10–20 seconds and build from there. If your child is constantly climbing, crashing, or seeking input, comment SEEKER and I’ll send you my Sensory Seeker Survival Toolkit. It gives you practical strategies to try instead of guessing what your child needs. SAVE this for your child’s next movement break. SEND this to a parent raising an ADHD child.
