Sometimes if you’re very delayed, it messes up your entire trip plans and it’s best to cancel that flight and book a different one.

What if they cancel ur flight and u have to rearrange your schedules because they can’t get u home at the time u planned? Is there compensation for that?

Flight SM 2943 on 22 June 2025 FRA–HRG: Despite written confirmation on 02 July 2025 of €800 compensation, we still received no payment and no reply. At the airport only €8 voucher per person, on the replacement aircraft even €3 for warm water – violation of EU 261/2004. #aircairo what can i do ?

Had a delay recently leaving Dulles. Missed connection in Heathrow we got access to the United Lounge. Free food/drink worked out well for the long delay

So you’re stuck in the airport because of a delayed flight. You cancel your flight to get a refund. How are you ahead? A last minute booking on another airline, if anything is available, is going to cost you more than your refund.

Be aware, I think this only applies if directly booked with the airline (points xfer & booking.com, Expedia bookings) is a loophole
