Los Angeles — A 45-day federal civil enforcement campaign continued Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, across California, with Los Angeles seeing some of the highest activity. The initiative, described by officials as a state-focused enforcement surge, began in early October and is scheduled to run through mid-November. It has brought a visible increase in federal personnel to neighborhoods, transit hubs, worksites, courthouses and downtown blocks.

On Wednesday, a separate multi-agency operation was visible in the Skid Row area. Heavy-duty vehicles and personnel from several federal agencies joined the action, which focused on downtown Los Angeles and nearby streets. Witnesses reported vehicle stops, early-morning door knocks and a heavy official presence.

A report by a Washington-based news outlet said federal immigration agents have been directed to detain people without limiting targets to those with prior criminal records. The federal homeland security department and its immigration agencies have not released full details on the scope, targeting criteria or number of people held. Community leaders say the guidance has spread fear across Los Angeles County, home to one of the nation’s largest communities of residents born outside the U.S.

Know-your-rights groups are urging residents to:

· Avoid unnecessary travel, especially between 5:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., when enforcement activity has been most frequent. Operations can occur at any hour.
· Keep a family plan for children, medications, documents and emergency contacts.
· Do not open the door unless an agent shows a judicial warrant signed by a judge.
· Remain silent and ask, “Am I free to leave?” if approached.
· Safely record badge numbers, agency names and vehicle information.
· Memorize an attorney’s or consulate’s number and a trusted emergency contact.
· If detained, ask to contact an attorney and your consulate. Do not sign documents you do not understand. Memorize your A-number if you have one.
· Report activity to local rapid-response networks and legal observers.

Navaratri festival is about celebrating the ultimate source of strength, wisdom, & transformation- Devi Durga.

These nine sacred days to me have been about looking inwards, to connect with
the Devi within.
The divine feminine isn’t a distant power- Shakti lives inside each of us.
She is the quiet strength that pulls us through tough days,
the resilience that helps us
& the eternal source of hope that guides minds towards goals, joy & peace.
Let this festival be a reminder to honor
that strength, protect our energy & spirits
& also to be kind & uplift one another.

Sprinkling a little orange color, tradition,
& joy as Navaratri begins!
Thnks Shwe @swesunder for lovingly giving me your orange Kanchipuram saree
to drape. Felt warm n enveloped in your beautiful vibe.
Loved seeing my feed go orange with my saree friends here in shades of orange drapes.
Looking forward to celebrating the festival with you all.
Happy Navaratri to all of you celebrating.
Love, light & divine energy touch your all❤️
