Ignorance can no longer be used as an excuse. There are so many ways to learn about what’s happening to my people. There are so many books that help you unpack the atrocities that have been committed against us.

Please seek out knowledge. Inform yourself. Educate those around you. Speak up. Speak out. Call your representatives. Help us.

I recommend “GAZA An Inquest Into Its Martyrdom” by Norman Finkelstein.

Roses have to be one of the most iconic and enduring symbols in human culture. Across time, place, and tradition, the rose carries layers of meaning—from love and beauty to pain and transformation. There’s something almost paradoxical about the rose: its delicate petals and intoxicating fragrance contrasted with the sharpness of its thorns. It reminds us that beauty often comes with boundaries, and that love, to be real, must hold space for both joy and sorrow. What I find especially fascinating is how every color of rose tells a different story. Red roses are known for passionate love, of course, but white roses symbolize purity and new beginnings. Yellow brings to mind friendship and sunshine, while pink speaks to gentleness and gratitude. Even black or deep purple roses—though rare—evoke mystery, mourning, or deep transformation. It’s almost like roses are nature’s emotional language. In gardening and folklore, roses also represent cycles—growth, bloom, decay, and rebirth. They follow the rhythm of the seasons, just as we do in life. In many spiritual traditions, roses are associated with the divine feminine, the heart chakra, and inner awakening. They show up in mythology, poetry, and religious texts because their beauty is so archetypal—it speaks to something deep in the human soul. What I love most about roses is how they invite presence. Whether you’re tending them in a garden, receiving them from someone special, or simply admiring one in bloom on a walk, they slow you down. They ask you to notice, to feel, and to remember that life is fleeting—but still full of breathtaking moments. So next time you see a rose, take a second to really look. Notice its curves, its color, even its thorns. There’s a quiet wisdom in roses if we’re willing to listen.
