📌ESCALATION IN PORT-AU-PRINCE 🇭🇹🇸🇻

Heavy gunfire, aerial drone strikes, and intense military clashes have gripped the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, including areas like Gressier and Croix-des-Bouquets, following a devastating gang ambush on international security forces.

Here is what you need to know:

The Ambush: Four Salvadoran military aviation technicians/personnel assigned to the international Gang Suppression Force (GSF) were ambushed while returning from a logistics run. Heavily armed gangs showered their armored vehicle with hundreds of rounds and explosives, setting it on fire.

Missing & Hostage Status: Though the soldiers managed to escape the burning wreck, contact was lost, and they are believed to be held hostage by coalitions like 400 Mawozo. Relief helicopters attempting to secure the zone were also met with incoming fire.

The Response & Troop Deployments: President Nayib Bukele issued a severe ultimatum to the gangs, explicitly stating that El Salvador has deployed around 200 elite special forces troops to Haiti to spearhead a high-stakes search-and-rescue operation. Fresh contingents of Salvadoran reinforcements have landed in Port-au-Prince alongside heavy equipment to back the sweeping raids. While U.S. and Salvadoran intelligence and logistics channels are closely coordinating and monitoring the situation, the direct boots-on-the-ground rescue push is being driven by El Salvador’s newly landed elite units alongside local and international forces.

📌Bukele warned the captors that the nation that dismantled its own domestic cartels is fully prepared to bring the full weight of its military capability down on those holding the personnel.
