God calls us to be set apart in righteousness, separate from the world. Being obedient to that call is not always easy but it offers far beyond what anything contrary can. We tend to think the offerings of this world will fulfill what the heart longs for but the desires of the flesh & of this world are only temporary pleasures, I can promise you that because scripture points to the truth (1 John 2:15-17). We all have God-sized holes in our hearts that only He can fill; which is ultimately filled by his grace, love, mercy, comfort, peace, joy, & freedom.
I am just as tainted as whoever may be reading this. I write this in transparency & vulnerability, not of pride. I’ve tried the partying. I’ve tried drinking & smoking. I’ve tried pursuing idols. I have fallen to lust, pride, temptation, depression, anxiety, insecurity. You name it, I’ve been there. I’m not boasting in my sin, but I am boasting in my weaknesses because I am imperfect - and I hope I don’t portray an image of being otherwise - but in that, God has met me in my weaknesses & has showed me that His power is made PERFECT in my weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). When we begin to accept our areas of weakness within ourselves, we allow God to show Himself strong with His matchless power & glory through our weaknesses - which ultimately gives us the strength, power, & dominion against the kingdom of darkness for the body of Christ.
My prayer is that whoever may be reading this not only acknowledges Christ but answers the call to righteousness and salvation, letting go of the ways of this world & stepping into a life of salvation, sanctification, pruning, redemption, restoration, breakthrough, empowerment, & healing. If the wages of sin are death & eternal suffering, why continue to live in that? If the light & darkness cannot coexist, why continue in darkness? Why not love a Father that loves you? If God so loved us that He gave His only son to die for our sake, why not seek relationship with that same God who showed the greatest act of love?
