As much as I LOVE living in Italy, there are definitely a few things that still drive me absolutely crazy as an American living here! Coming from the US, where we’re so used to convenience, efficiency and having everything happen on time, living in Italy has taught me a lot about patience. Between the constant transportation delays, strikes that seem to happen at the worst possible times, delivery drivers who refuse to come up my driveway, and a visa process that takes so long you’re practically ready to renew by the time you receive it, some days I really do have to laugh (otherwise I might cry). I’ve lived here for years, and there are still things I don’t think I’ll ever get used to! But here’s the thing. Italy is my chosen home, and for every little thing that frustrates me, there are at least ten things I absolutely love about this country. And trust me, my list of complaints about the US is muchlonger. I think it’s important to share both sides of living abroad, because as beautiful as life in Italy is, it’s not always the romanticised version you see on Instagram. So consider this part one of the realities of living in Italy as an American, because I have plenty more where these came from (and make sure you follow so you don’t miss any of them)! For those of you who have moved abroad, what’s something about your new home that you still haven’t gotten used to?

I think I’m the most excited person on the planet for this movie! ❤️🎄 I’m so proud of you, Maddie, and I can’t wait to share this special moment with you! ❤️✨
