My favorite memory of England is the daily return of the bumblebee to our house. Bath was historically lovely. The Cotswolds were such a treat. But should you find yourself in England, spend time enjoying the bumblebees. They are remarkable. (Last photo is a bumblebee sleeping on a flower in Hyde Park).

the most pain I’ve felt in a long time. It’s weird when you’re in so much pain and all you want to do is stop knowing you have ~ an hour left.

How do you tell yourself I need to carry on doing this for another hour. No breaks, no stops, just trying to fight the pain one step after the other.

Chicago was my fourth marathon, third PB attempt and each time I think maybe the final 10k will be easier for me this time. Every time I’m proven wrong. I know they’re meant to be hard but I don’t know how to fight through the pace drop. I did everything I could to- fuelling was good, carb loading was good.

I’ve thought that maybe a better strategy for me it to go out faster at the start so I bank more time, then hold on for dear life because I don’t think I could possibly ever positive split a marathon

Anyway, genuinely fought with the devil for possibly half of the marathon. My body needs a rest.
