Displayed throughout Jose Dávila’s (@josedavila) exhibition at our Menorca gallery, the series of paintings “Divisions of the Internal Space” features the negatives of primary geometric shapes -circles, squares, triangles- frame and delimited by applications of white paint on raw linen canvases.
The tension between the organicity of the pictorial stroke and the geometric structure invites us to think about an interior space both physical and metaphorical - that of the complexity of the human mind.

Presentadas a lo largo de la exposición de Jose Dávila en Menorca, la nueva serie de pinturas “Divsiones del espacio interior” enmarca negativos de formas geométricas primarias —círculos, cuadrados, triángulos—, delimitados por aplicaciones de pintura blanca sobre lienzos de lino crudo.
La tensión entre la organicidad del trazo y la estructura geométrica invitan a pensar en un espacio interior tanto físico como metafórico – el de la complejidad de la mente humana.
