Day’s directorial debut is a fresh take on family, identity, and mental health — following a former spelling bee champion navigating adulthood, cultural expectations, and a complicated homecoming.

DEFINITION PLEASE has been celebrated across the festival circuit, earning Outstanding Directorial Debut for a Feature Film at the South Asian Film Festival of America, the Jury Award for Best Narrative at CAAMFest, a Special Jury Award for Fresh Narrative at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and an Outstanding Directing nomination at the 54th NAACP Image Awards.
